According to TVline, Penny Marshall and Lorraine Bracco are set to play a lesbian couple in FOX’s upcoming comedy ‘Mulaney.’
‘Mulaney’ is a multi-camera comedy from ‘Saturday Night Live’ writer John Mulaney and ‘SNL’ creator Lorne Michaels. The show, based on the life of John Mulaney, will follow an aspiring comedian (Mulaney) living under the influence of his game-show host, boss and mentor Lou (Martin Short). Other guest stars will include Nasim Pedrad (‘SNL’), as well as Elliott Gould (‘Ray Donovan’), Seaton Smith (‘SNL’), and Zack Pearlman (‘SNL’).
Marshall and Bracco will guest star in Episode 2, as Tutti and Vaughn, good friends of Mulaney’s neighbor Oscar (Gould).
Best known for her role as Laverne in the iconic sitcom, ‘Laverne and Shirley,’ Marshall most recently guest-starred on Nickelodeon’s ‘Sam & Cat.’ Meanwhile, Bracco, highly known for her work in ‘The Sopranos,' currently has a recurring role as Rizzoli’s mom on TNT’s ‘Rizzoli and Isles.’
According to John Mulaney’s Twitter, Episode 2 will tape within the coming week. “We're making another! 'Mulaney' Episode 2! Tapes Feb 6. Be there. An amazing cast! Special guest stars! Whoaaa!,” the actor tweeted.
And if you want to be part of the taping, fear not. The comedy is taped in front of a live studio audience, and you can still reserve seats. But if you would much rather catch the show in the warmth of your own home, ‘Mulaney’ is slated to premiere later this year.
