Here's a little bit of "positive" news for everyone. TVLine exclusively reports that acting vet, Bob Newhart, will once again grace 'The Big Bang Theory' stage by reprising his role as Sheldon and Leonard’s childhood idol Professor Proton later this season.
This marks Newhart's third appearance on the popular CBS sitcom, having made his grand debut to the series last season, along with an additional encore performance this past November.
For those who need a little refresher course, Professor Proton is a down-on-his-luck former children's science show host, who was originally hired by Sheldon and Leonard to entertain them (as grown men do). And Sheldon has managed to (rather hysterically) plague his world ever since.
There’s no word yet about what exactly brings the professor (aka Arthur Jeffries, Ph.D.) back into the 'Big Bang' fold. (Perhaps one of Penny's grandmothers is available after all?) But either way, it's bound to be fully charged with laughter and (hopefully) a bunch of science puns. Bazinga!
'The Big Bang Theory' airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
