Good news 'Orange Is the New Black' fans. It looks like Laura Prepon is sticking around for a lot more screen time than we thought, according to series creator Jenji Kohan.
Last summer, it was reported that not only would Prepon barely have any presence on the second season of Netflix's hit dramedy, but that she would be leaving the show too. Then in the fall, her role was said to be bumped up to four episodes and that she was in negotiations to stick around for a potential third season. Now, according to to Kohan, Prepon will be back for "most" of Season 2.
"Yes, yes, she is coming back," Kohan told Us Weekly at the Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, Feb. 1. "Not the whole season, but...you'll see her for most of it."
Works for us. Diehard fans of 'OITNB' will surely want to know how Prepon's character, Alex, will interact with her on-off girlfriennd, Piper (Taylor Schilling), now that they are no longer a couple. And of course, we'd love to see her reaction to last season's shocking cliffhanger.
As for the latest season, Kohan says it will be more of an ensemble this time around, with less focus on Piper, delving into the backgrounds of fan-favorite characters like Red (Kate Mulgrew) and Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba).
The second season of 'OITNB' drops sometime this year.
