Get ready, people, because two of FOX's popular hit sitcoms are about to collide in one very big way, and holy Schmidt, is it going to be amazing. E! News has exclusively discovered that 'New Girl's number one ladies man, Max Greenfield, has signed on to guest star on 'The Mindy Project.'
The actor is scheduled to make his grand debut in an episode that's tentatively set for April 22, where he'll play Lee, a hot player at a bar who is up to no good, in true Schmidt fashion. (Do you suppose he too has a deep appreciation for frittatas and owns a pair of driving moccasins? Fingers crossed!)
Either way, it will undoubtedly be hysterical to see what kind of foolish shenanigans Greenfield's character will get up to over at Shulman & Associates (or whatever crazy name combination the hospital is calling itself these days). Let's just hope he's not there to stir up trouble between the newly sparked romantic connection between Danny and Mindy. (There isn't a Douchebag Jar big enough that would make up for an enormous faux pas like that.)
Aside from this most recent gig and his weekly stint on 'New Girl,' Greenfield can also be seen in March as Deputy Leo in the highly anticipated 'Veronica Mars' movie.
Other upcoming guest stars on 'The Mindy Project' include Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Anna Gunn, and the return of Mindy's ex-boyfriend, Bill Hader. The series returns from its winter hiatus on Tuesday, April 1 at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.
