The latest ‘NCIS’ spin-off, ‘NCIS: New Orleans,’ keeps on growing. Most recently, ‘JAG’ and ‘Dirty Sexy Money’ actress Zoe McLellan has been added to the pilot’s line-up.
McLellan will portray Special Agent Brody. She is “a Midwestern transplant who comes to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.” This role almost seems meant to be for McLellan, since she starred as P.O. Jennifer Coates in ‘JAG,’ ‘NCIS’ predecessor.
The Big Easy project, brought to CBS by ‘NCIS’ executive producer Gary Glasberg and star Mark Harmon (he portrays silver fox Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the hit drama), is also welcoming talented actor Scott Bakula.
Bakula, known for his days on ‘Quantum Leap’ and current recurring role in HBO’s ‘Looking,’ will play leading man NCIS Special Agent Pride. Not only does Pride “embody New Orleans,” but he is “driven by the need to do what’s right … with warmth, passion, strength and humor. He’s a unique federal agent working in one of this country’s most unique cities.”
Two roles have yet to be cast, including Agent LaSalle, a “muscular,” “devilish,” and “charming” former Sheriff’s deputy, and Dr. Wade, an “outspoken” and “eccentric” Ducky of the team, per TVLine.
‘NCIS: New Orleans,’ featuring investigative cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle, will air as a two-parter this spring during ‘NCIS.’
UPDATE: 'Sons of Anarchy' actress CCH Pounder has just been cast to play Dr. Wade, a Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner. She is described “as eccentric as she is smart,” “worldly, intuitive and incredibly connected to Louisiana.” For those wondering about Pounder's 'Sons of Anarchy' role, the 'NCIS' spin-off pilot will be shot before the final 'SOA' season. However, if it goes to series, she'll most likely have to juggle both roles.
