Recognized for his roles in ‘Greek’ as Evan Chambers and Mike Pratt on ‘Shameless,’ Jake McDorman is once again getting into the comedy spirit.
McDorman has recently been recruited as the male lead in the upcoming ABC single-camera comedy pilot ‘My Thoughts Exactly,’ from Jeff Lowell (‘Common Law,’ ‘Spin City’).
The so-called romantic comedy revolves around the unfiltered internal monologues of a young couple, as they embark on their new relationship. McDorman will take on the main role of Peter, while Analeigh Tipton (‘Hung,’ ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’) stars as his girlfriend, Dana, who is described as pretty and friendly.
As stated above, McDorman made a name for himself as the hoity-toity, jerk, misunderstood, complicated and sometimes adored Evan Chambers on ABC Family’s ‘Greek,’ alongside Spencer Grammer and Scott Michael Foster (Cappie!). Evan was the type of guy you either loved or hated. Most recently, McDorman's recurred as Fiona’s (Emmy Rossum) love interest on Showtime’s ‘Shameless,’ and he was even spotted on the short-lived NBC comedy, ‘Are You There, Chelsea?,’ as Rick Miller.
I think it’s safe to say McDorman will have no problem in the comedy arena, especially if ‘My Thoughts Exactly’ is ordered for more episodes.
Lowell will write the script and executive produce the ABC Studios and Brillstein Entertainment Partners project with help from executive producer Peter Traugott (‘Samantha Who?’).
