Kelly Rutherford, who plays Serena Van Der Woodsen's mother, Lily, on The CW's 'Gossip Girl' is getting sued by a private detective for the time and energy that he spent on spying on Rutherford's ex-husband from 2010. The grand total of what the star owes the man is $86,249.85. This is all for the months spent on spying on Daniel Giersch , her ex-husband. The star divorced from Giersch in 2008 while she was pregnant with their second child and needless to say, it didn't end on a happy note. Like 'Gossip Girl' there was trouble brewing from the start. After a two-year battle of backstabing, name calling and accusations, the couple ended their divorce in July 2010. The battle lasted as long as their marriage did!
Now the star has the worry of a private eye she hired to spy on her former husband demanding that she pay for what he has done for her. The claim is sound and the "Upper East Side" star is going to have to shell out a lot of money to be able to make the private detective go away happy. With everything that has happened, it is only fair to say that Rutherford has her plate full of things that she is going to have to deal with. However, Edward Banach, the private eye was only paid $28,214.35. There is still another $56,000 to go. Rutherford claimed, at the time of the spying, that it was for her son's protection.
In a court case, the private eye is the winner for sure based on the fact that he is still missing the remaining amount of money. What do you think about this? Should she pay the money?
