Here’s some happy news for fans of the late ABC comedy ‘Happy Endings.’ Actor Zachary Knighton is returning to the small screen in not one, but two roles!
First up is FOX’s new pilot comedy ‘Weird Loners,’ where Knighton is set to play Stosh Lewandowski, “a whip-smart and rakishly handsome sales rep with a cynical edge.” He’s also said to be a womanizer, which finds him in some hot water, like sleeping with his boss’ fiancee. He then gets fired, ends up basically homeless, but finds a home with his cousin, Eric.
‘Weird Loners’ goes on to tell the story of four people living in fear of commitment, but once thrust into one another’s lives they form an unlikely bond.
As an aside, let’s also point out how FOX is now home to every male ‘Happy Endings’ cast member, with Adam Pally on ‘The Mindy Project,’ Damon Wayans Jr. on ‘New Girl,’ and now Knighton joining ‘Weird Loners.’ Who’s hoping for some crossover episodes?
Now for some ‘Parenthood’ news. As fans of the fantastic NBC drama know, Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia (Erika Christensen) are having a rough time with their marriage. Not only did Julia kiss another guy (Roy from ‘The Office), Joel recently moved out. So many emotions.
Well, sources confirm Knighton is coming on the show, in a major season-ending arc, as a potential love interest for Julia. Knighton will play Evan Knight, a hip new teacher at the school Kristina's (Monica Potter) founded, who also catches Julia’s eye. Are we in for even more heartbreaking Joel and Julia moments?
Overall, I’d say it’s a pretty “happy” day for Knighton.
