FOX’s Batman origin series, ‘Gotham,’ keeds adding to its cast, and it looks like ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star Donal Logue is the latest name being added to the long list.
Logue joins the series as Detective Harvey Bullock, who is a well-known DC character. Not only is he James Gordon’s (‘Southland’s Ben McKenzie) partner, but he’s also his mentor. The detective is described as someone who gets results, thanks to playing it loose with police procedure, and all while embracing an old-school, forceful panache.
For those worried about Logue’s recurring role as King Horik on ‘Vikings,’ you can relax, as his ‘Gotham’ work won’t interfere.
In addition to Logue, just yesterday ‘Gotham’ announced the addition of four more series regulars, including Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, or better known to ‘Batman’ fans as The Penguin. Erin Richards will also appear as Barbara Kean and fiancee to Gordon. Next, British actor Sean Pertwee will pop up as loyal and protective butler Alfred Pennyworth. Lastly, we have ‘Burn Notice’s Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen/Gordon’s boss at the GCPD Homicide Squad.
I’ll say it again, holy casting, ‘Gotham’!
The origin series was granted a full series order last September, and for those wondering, ‘Gotham’ will follow Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous.
The pilot was written by ‘The Mentalist’s Bruno Heller, who will also serve as executive producer alongside ‘Nikita’s Danny Cannon.
