FOX's 'Broadchurch' adaptation has added another cast member, this time to replace Georgina Rylance, who left the show for "creative reasons."
The Hollywood Reporter
reports British actress and 'Felicity' alum Sarah-Jane Potts will be taking on the role of Gemma, an attractive and flirty British woman who owns the hotel where Detective Emmett Carver (David Tennant) is staying. Potts is replacing Rylance, who vacated the role
earlier this week.
'Gracepoint' is a 10-part series from 'In Treatment's Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein, based on the popular ITV series 'Broadchurch.' The series follows the events and investigation that unfold in the sleepy seaside town of Gracepoint after the tragic and mysterious death of a young boy.
In addition to 'Felicity,' Potts starred in 2005's 'Kinky Boots' film, opposite Chiwitel Ejiofor and Joel Edgerton, and she most recently appeared on television in the BBC's 'Holby City' and 'Waterloo Road.'
Potts joins an already loaded cast, including David Tennant
, who is reprising his 'Broadchurch' role, 'Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver
, Nick Nolte
, Michael Pena
, Josh Hamilton
, Kevin Rankin, Virginia Kull, Jessica Lucas
, Kevin Zegers
, Madalyn Horcher, Stephen Louis Grush, and Kendrick Sampson
Potts should be a great addition to the cast, and 'Doctor Who' fans tuning in to 'Gracepoint' to watch their beloved 10th Doctor Tennant in action on our side of the pond are bound to perk up upon hearing the name "Sarah Jane."
