'Sharknado' Sequel Announces Cast

'Sharknado' Sequel Announces Cast

Just a couple weeks after it was announced that both Tara Reid and Ian Ziering would reprise their rather infamous roles from the B-movie sci-fi tomfoolery that was ‘Sharknado,’ the rest of the cast has been rounded out for the equally ridiculous sequel.

Not surprisingly, it’s a bizarre hodgepodge of personalities and entertainers, but definitely features more recognizable names than the first. Vivica A. Fox toplines the supporting cast, playing Skye, an old friend of Fin (Ziering) from high school.

Joining her is Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, who will play Fin’s brother-in-law, while ‘30 Rock’s funny hat-wearing Judah Friedlander also appears, as does Kelly Osbourne in the role of a flight attendant. Judd Hirsch will pop in as a taxi driver, and the ever-loquacious Andy Dick will be a police officer (and it should be safe to assume that everyone will be rooting for him to be eaten pretty quickly).

Set to start production next week, the sequel, dubbed ‘Sharknado 2: The Second One’ follows Fin and April (Reid) as while now in Manhattan, another, bigger and badder sharknado makes landfall. As the heroes of the first film, the two are now experts, and sort of in the way that John McClane always happens upon terrorists, Fin and April find wind-blown great whites.

The ludicrous Syfy original became a mainstream phenomenon as well as a cult hit, especially on social media. It didn’t take long after for the network to commission a sequel, but only recently did Reid and Ziering announce their return.

The sequel doesn’t have a premiere date just yet, but it’s looking like summer, which apparently is Sharknado season.

It was so corny they made it twice, although not in NY! but could be more fun as its now made in Manhattan.

But of all the really corny films from SYFY, you remember this one the most, even though it had more people on twitter, than it had viewers but it got people talking the same way.

Pity the barmaid didnt make it to the second film & looks like John Heard was left Home Alone, so to speak, lmao!
