There’s no place like ‘Once Upon a Time.’ The hit ABC fairytale drama has officially cast Glinda the Good Witch, TVLine exclusively reports.
So, who will play ‘The Wizard of Oz’ character? Sunny Mabrey is the lucky lady to snag the role!
At the beginning of February, it was announced that ‘OUAT’ would be welcoming another character from the land of ‘Oz,’ and now fans can look forward to Mabrey’s portrayal of Glinda. She is described as “elegant, warm and benevolent, as well as wise, clever and shrewd.”
Glinda might not be exactly like the bubbly “good witch” we all remember from the 1939 film starring Judy Garland, as this small screen version is said to be lonely and very cautious, especially after years of isolation. Despite her hardships, Glinda still manages to be “filled with optimism.”
So, maybe we can expect some bubbly moments? I guess we’ll have to wait and see when Mabrey makes her debut this spring.
Glinda isn’t the only ‘Oz’ character we can expect to pop up, as ‘Lost’s Rebecca Mader will also make her debut by “going green” as a version of the infamous Wicked Witch. Whether Mabrey and Mader will appear in the same episode has yet to be revealed.
Mabrey’s other TV credits include recurring roles on TNT’s ‘Memphis Beat’ and Lifetime’s ‘The Client List.’
‘Once Upon a Time’ returns Sunday, March 9 at 8/7c on ABC.
