Jon Heder will be returning to FOX, as he's been tapped to topline in the Ricky Blitt comedy 'Here's Your Damn Family.'
The new half-hour sitcom is a multi-camera comedy that focuses on a 30-something dude named Richard (Jon Heder), who still lives at home with this mother (Jane Kaczmarek). Richard is described as a rare combination of intense intelligence and sloth-like underachievement.
Richard is also easily traumatized. His world comes crumbling down as he faces the worst surprise of his life -- his mother decides to get married after two decades of being single. And, wait for it -- not only does she get married, but her new husband and his three teenage children are packing their bags to move in. Who will play the husband? It's none other than 'JAG' alum David James Elliott.
It's like the 'Brady Bunch' and 'Napoleon Dynamite' are having a baby.
'Here's Your Damn Family' marks Heder's first as a TV series regular since he gave voice to FOX's animated remake based on 'Napoleon Dynamite.' His other credits include, 'Dead Grandma,' 'Robot Chicken,' and 'My Name Is Earl.' His feature movies include 'Insanity Please,' 'Buddy Holly is Alive on Ganymede' and 'Walt Before Mickey.'
Blitt ('Becoming Glen') will write the script and executive produce. Also slated to executive produce are Steve McPherson and Johnny Galecki ('The Big Bang Theory').
