Charlie Cox is slated to topline CBS' untitled Wall Street drama from executive producer John Cusack ('War, Inc.,' ‘High Fidelity,’ ‘Grosse Pointe Blank’).
Cox will star as Jackson, a sophisticated Wall Street hedge fund trader who has served his country in Iraq, and has the the integrity and passion to do good in the aggressive world of power and money on Wall Street.
The pilot was scripted by 'Justified' writers Taylor Elmore and Ben Cavell from a story the two co-wrote with Cusack and Kevin McCabe. The four will also be executive producing, alongside Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman.
This untitled pilot marks the return of Cox to CBS. Last season the British actor starred in the network’s drama pilot ‘The Ordained.’ Although the pilot was not picked up as a series, it still seems like CBS has faith in Charlie Cox’s ability to be a leading man.
Cox might be best known for his role as Owen on the second and third seasons of HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ however he has other film and television credits including, ‘Stardust,’ ‘Moby Dick,’ and ‘Hello Carter.’ He has also made an appearance in one episode of ‘Downton Abbey’ as the Duke of Crowborough.
And, for those who are curious, according to Deadline, John Cusack has no plans to act alongside Charlie Cox.
