Jane Lynch is about to get inducted into the 'Girl Meets World' family. The actress has officially confirmed her involvement in the 'Boy Meets World' spin-off by admitting via Twitter that she has signed up to guest star.
When asked by a follower if there was any truth behind the rumors that she would be making an appearance in the Disney Channel series, the 'Glee' star couldn't help but admit to the truth. "Yes there is truth...," she responded, without giving away any specifics.
This exciting news leaves the door open to several different possibilities. Perhaps Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) decides to take up middle school cheerleading and finds herself in the clutches of a tough (yet hilarious) tracksuit-wearing coach. Or maybe Mr. Feeny encounters a new lady friend. Who knows?! But either way, let the speculation begin!
Similar to its predecessor, 'Girl Meets World' will focus on the joys and sorrows that come with growing up. However, instead of it being from Cory's (Ben Savage) point of view, it will be from his daughter's perspective.
And while there's a chance the spin-off won't live up to the original (which has a tendency to happen), it's comforting to think the next generation will be able to turn to these characters for guidance. After all, everyone deserves a Mr. Feeny lesson.
But regardless of its pending success or failure, adding Lynch is just one more reason to tune in and watch. (Though did you really need another reason?)
'Girl Meets World' is expected to air later this year with a full series order.
