The town of Pawnee is about to get the First Lady treatment. NBC announced earlier today that Michelle Obama will be making a cameo appearance on 'Parks and Recreation' during their hour-long Season 6 finale.
Right now, it's unclear as to what exact circumstances will land Obama in the small town of Indiana. But rest assured, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) will most certainly be beyond thrilled. Perhaps the two of them can go out for some waffles and whipped cream. Though, to be honest, watching her interact with just about any of the 'Parks and Rec' crew is bound to be pretty amazing (with the exception of Jerry, of course).
The episode, titled "Moving Up," was filmed in late February during FLOTUS' trip to Miami, where she was celebrating investments in healthier out-of-school programs as part of her "Let’s Move" initiative dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity.
But Obama isn't the first D.C. figure to appear on the Thursday night sitcom. Other political guest stars include Vice President Joe Biden, Arizona Senator John McCain, California Senator Barbara Boxer, and former Maine Senator Olympia Snowe. Who knows...maybe someday Hillary Clinton will be able to pop in for a visit.
The 'Parks and Recreation' Season 6 finale is slated to air on Thursday, April 24 at 8/7c on NBC. So mark your calendars, people. Something tells us it's going to be a good one.
