The wait is over for those who’ve been wanting to see Grant Gustin sport the famous ‘Flash’ costume donned by so many. Today, Warner Bros. TV released a glimpse of Gustin in the red-hot superhero outfit (shown above).
‘The Flash,’ a pilot which will air on The CW, begins production next week, so this is a great little sneak peek of what’s to come. Colleen Atwood, a three-time Academy Award winner for ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ and ‘Chicago,’ designed the costume. She’s also known for fashioning Oliver Queen’s vigilante costume on CW’s ‘Arrow.’
As a spin-off of ‘Arrow,’ Gustin portrays scientist Barry Allen. After a freak accident, Allen is then transformed into the fastest man alive, also known as The Flash.
In addition to Gustin, ‘The Flash’ also stars a slew of actors, including Tom Cavanagh (‘Ed’) as Harrison Wells, the creator of Central City’s S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator, which explodes and shapes Allen into The Flash.
Candice Patton also joins the project as Iris West, who is Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend, and possible love interest. ‘Law & Order’s Jesse L. Martin also stars as Detective West, Allen’s mentor and father to Iris.
If that isn’t enough talent, Broadway star Carlos Valdes will also appear as engineering genius Cisco Ramon. ‘Necessary Roughness’ Danielle Panabaker has snagged the role of Caitlin Snow, while ‘Vampire Diaries’ actor Rick Cosnett will take on the part of Detective Eddie Thawne, a new Central City Police Department transfer.
