Dylan McDermott is heading back to CBS in Kevin Williamson’s new untitled pilot drama.
Williamson, known for his work on ‘The Following’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ is bringing the potential one-hour series to CBS revolving around detectives dealing with stalking incidents for the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD.
Enter McDermott, who will play the major role of recent New York transfer Detective Jack Larsen to the unit. His character is said to be confident and quick-thinking, but Jack isn’t as perfect as he looks on the outside. Jack has a troubled past he wants to leave in the past, but if the stalker project gets picked up, we’re sure to learn all about the troubled Jack.
Most recently, McDermott was seen in CBS’ limited series ‘Hostages,’ where he played a terrorist holding a family hostage, until the wife of that family (played by Toni Collette) assassinated the president. Of course, he’s also known for his roles in ‘American Horror Story,’ ‘The Practice’ and the short-lived ‘Big Shots.’
The pilot will be directed by Liz Friedlander, who’s previously worked with Williamson on several TV series, including ‘The Following,’ ‘The Secret Circle’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ Williamson will write and executive produce with Warner Bros. Television.
No other roles have been cast, but we’ll be sure to update you along the way.
