Watch the First 2 Minutes from the 'Veronica Mars' Movie
It's the preview that "marshmallows" across the country have been waiting for. Warner Bros. has released the first two minutes of the much-anticipated 'Veronica Mars' movie and it serves as both the best shout-out to marshmallows (a.k.a. 'Veronica Mars' fans) and the perfect introduction for newbies (a.k.a. marshmallow-wannabes).
The film's opening sequence is the ultimate refresher for die-hard fans (including the 91,000 who helped the movie get made by contributing to a record-setting Kickstarter campaign) and for those who didn't catch the TV series' three seasons on UPN or The CW.
“A teenaged private eye. Trust me, I know how dumb that sounds,” Veronica (Kristen Bell) begins in a voiceover, then she goes back to the pilot episode, introducing how the death of her best friend, Lilly Kane, pushed her into the P.I. business (“But it’s not like I found a decoder at the bottom of a cereal box and thought, ‘That sounds like fun.’ I wish. That would have been adorable," she says). She then leads us through the rocky relationship she shared with Logan (Jason Dohring).
At the end of her spiel, Veronica reveals that she left her life in Neptune, Calif., before adding: "The new me? People say I’m a marshmallow.” (Can you hear the cheers in the movie theatre once she utters that line? I can.)
Thankfully, fans of 'Veronica Mars' won't have to wait too much longer to see the rest of the flick. The movie opens in theatres on March 14.
