Anna Camp is 'Damaged Goods.' In the best way possible, of course. The 'Pitch Perfect' star has landed a full-time primetime gig on the new comedy pilot for ABC.
The project will be written and exec-produced by Lauren Iungerich ('Awkward') and centers around the sexual politics that still come into play between men and women even in this post-feminist era (are we really "post"? I dunno know about that...I digress).
Camp will play Nicole, a successful and savvy lawyer, who is completely shocked and hurt when her boyfriend, Tim (Justin Hartley), basically dumps her because she got the promotion he wanted at the law firm where they both work. Apparently, he can't deal because she's a woman! How dare she!
The single-camera comedy also stars Steve Talley ('Pretty Little Liars'), Ben Lawson ('Covert Affair') and Kellee Stewart ('The Soul Man'), and will be directed and co-exec-produced by Irish expat Declan Lowney ('Alan Partridge').
Camp has jumped around between big and small screens, having had scored roles in varied fare such as the Oscar-winning 'The Help' and CBS' 'How I Met Your Mother.' Her casting just comes over a year since she was downgraded from series regular to recurring on FOX's 'The Mindy Project.' She's also popped up again on HBO's 'True Blood' as Sarah Newlin and appeared on the TBS comedy 'Ground Floor.'
