The fifth season premiere of hit TV Land sitcom 'Hot in Cleveland' has just added another notable name to its guest star roster.
According to TVLine, 'Community' star Ken Jeong has signed on to play a major role in the episode, titled "Stayin' Alive." In addition to kicking off Season 5 of 'Cleveland,' "Stayin' Alive" will also be the comedy's second attempt at producing an episode live.
In a plot point reminiscent of the Stephen King novel 'Misery,' Jeong will play a psychotic criminal with one major obsession in life: soap star Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick). After "Dr. Ken's" batty character takes Victoria captive, it's up to Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy (Jane Leeves), and Elka (the incomparable Betty White) to save her from her No. 1 fan.
Playing this type of unstable madman is certainly nothing new for Jeong, whose 'Community' character Ben Chang has often found himself skirting the edges of sanity during the critically acclaimed comedy's five-season run. Mr. Chow in the 'Hangover' trilogy is hardly the picture of mental health either.
Other high profile guest stars set to appear in Season 5 include Jason Priestley, Chevy Chase, Chris Elliott, 'The Office's Angela Kinsey, 'Reno 911's Thomas Lennon, and 'Modern Family's Sarah Hyland. Dave Foley, Susan Lucci, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and 'Late Late Show' host Craig Ferguson will also be reprising their previous guest roles.
'Hot in Cleveland's live fifth season premiere airs Wednesday, March 26 at 10/9c.
