'Arrow' Set to Introduce Two 'Flash' Characters

While it may not be the much-anticipated titular hero, The CW’s forthcoming superhero spin-off ‘The Flash’ will see two of its characters introduced on the parent show ‘Arrow.’

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed on Monday that ‘Flash’ castmembers Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes will both appear on Episode 19 of ‘Arrow.’

Panabaker will play Caitlin Snow, a brilliant bioengineering export whose fiancé died tragically during an incident at S.T.A.R. labs. Valdes, meanwhile, portrays Cisco Ramon, the young genius at S.T.A.R labs who was born into a low-income family. Ramon is loyal, eager, and a fair portion of the comic relief.

The episode the pair star in had been kept under wraps until now, with Guggenheim discussing the ‘Flash’ news at a press conference following a screening of recent episodes. It’s called "The Man Under The Hood," and it was once thought that the next episode would be a backdoor pilot for ‘Flash.’

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), all the while long, will remain in a coma until (presumably) the pilot episode for ‘The Flash.’

In case you are unfamiliar with the DC Comics universe and what is (likely) to become of the characters in the future, if the source material is any true guide, stop reading now.

In the comics, Snow becomes Killer Frost – a supervillain with, you guessed it, ice-based power – while Ramon goes good, transforming into the hero Vibe.

'Arrow' airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW. Episode 19 will air in mid-April.
