When the development of sequel series 'Girl Meets World' was announced in late 2012, the positive response from those who grew up with 'Boy Meets World' was both large and loud. As progress has continued, the return announcements of classic supporting characters like Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) and Stuart Minkus (Lee Norris) have helped anticipation for 'GMW' rise to almost a fever pitch.
While we still don't yet have a premiere date (get on it Disney!), a newly released photo confirms several more returning favorites are headed to Cory and Topanga's New York City home.
Yep, that is indeed Rider Strong as Cory's best friend Shawn, William Russ as Cory's dad Alan, and Betsy Randle as Cory's mom Amy, all seated together near the top of the image. New cast members Rowan Blanchard (Cory and Topanga's daughter Riley, the titular girl) and Sabrina Carpenter (Maya, Riley's best friend) sit side by side with their backs facing the camera near the front. The guy on the bottom left is apparently Uriah Shelton ('The Glades'), although what character he's playing is unclear.
The above photo serves as the first official confirmation of Strong, Russ, and Randle's long-rumored guest appearances on 'GMW,' during what Disney has confirmed is a special holiday episode. Rumors have also been floating around that Will Friedle will reprise his role of Eric Matthews as well, although Disney remains mum on the topic.
'Girl Meets World's 21 episode first season premieres later this year.
