As audiences get closer and closer to booking a trip to FOX's 'Gotham,' anticipation for the Batman universe prequel continues to build. In an attempt to keep the fire burning, the network has released the first official character photo for the series, featuring Donal Logue ('Terriers,' 'Copper') as gruff GCPD detective Harvey Bullock.
While longtime Bat-fans are certainly familiar with Bullock, the character has never before made it into a live-action film or TV series. To date, the best remembered animated portrayal of Bullock belongs to the classic 'Batman: The Animated Series,' but even then, the character differed greatly at times from what comic readers were familiar with.
A consummate character actor, former 'Grounded for Life' star Logue now has the opportunity to cement himself as the definitive screen portrayal of Jim Gordon's grizzled mentor. Check out the full first image of Logue as Bullock below:
Well, nobody can say that he doesn't look the part at least. Here's hoping Logue can finally do justice to an oft neglected figure in Gotham City's printed history. We all know Logue can act, so the impetus really falls on 'Gotham's writing staff to stay true to the Harvey Bullock fans know.
'Gotham' has no current premiere date, but is a virtual lock for the 2014-2015 TV season. Warner Bros. and FOX will post the next character photo tomorrow on 'Gotham's official Facebook page. Stay tuned to TVRage for further developments.
