This fall, get ready to witness the most spectacular freak show on Earth!
As usual, 'American Horror Story' doesn’t disappoint and is gearing up to deliver what’s sure to be the most freakiest season yet…and we do mean that quite literally. Earlier today, show creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to announce the official title of the FX anthology’s fourth season: ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show.’ (Cue creepy circus music here.)
Granted, this isn't too much of a surprise given how 'AHS' writer Douglas Petrie basically confirmed that the next installment would be set in a spooky carnival, but it's still pretty exciting to hear all the same. And by exciting, we, of course, mean terrifying.
But that wasn't the only juicy detail the show's creators decided to bestow upon its loyal horror fans. Entertainment Weekly exclusively learned some scintillating new details regarding this rather secretive season, including which former cast members are scheduled to return.
Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, 'Freak Show' will find Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the United States. And who exactly is among her group of “unusuals”? Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy will all play performers whom Lange’s character has rescued.
Airing the show's standard 13-episode run, 'Freak Show' will track this group of misfits as they do whatever it takes to keep their business around...by any means necessary. (Bring on the murderous clowns!)
Additionally, Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are also in talks to return, though nothing has been confirmed for either of them, just yet.
'AHS: Freak Show' will air in October of this year on FX.
