The talented singer and songwriter known to legions of loyal fans as A Fine Frenzy is venturing to television, as Alison Sudol has been tapped as a series regular on USA Network’s ‘Dig.’
A six-episode event series, ‘Dig’ is an action adventure drama from Gideon Raff (‘Homeland’) and Tim Kring ('Heroes'). The series follows FBI Agent Peter Connolly (Jason Isaacs, hello!) who, while stationed in Jerusalem and investigating the murder of a young female archaeologist, stumbles upon a vast conspiracy thousands of years in the making.
The 29-year-old Sudol will portray Emma Wilson, an American intern working on a dig site in the Israeli capital. She befriends Peter and becomes an asset as he starts to piece together an elaborate puzzle.
The series also stars Anne Heche, who will also play a key role in this historical and religious thriller that is slated to premiere later in 2014.
‘Dig’ marks the first big role for Sudol, who has of late forayed into acting. She has a recurring role on Amazon’s ‘Transparent,’ and will also feature in the upcoming film ‘Other People’s Children.’ As A Fine Frenzy, Sudol has three albums to her credit, and fans should rest assured that her emotional, indie dream pop will return as she is working on a new music project as well.
No word yet on whether the actress will return to her iconic red hair.
