In addition to all of the other news we’ve been reporting, here are a few entertainment and TV headlines you might have missed:
-Chyler Leigh (‘Grey’s Anatomy’) is headed to NBC in a new hour-long dramedy titled ‘Taxi Brooklyn,’ which will air this summer. Based on Luc Besson’s ‘Taxi’ with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah, this 12-episode series focuses on Leigh’s Cat Sullivan, a New York police detective, who marries Leo Romba (Jacky Ido) so he can stay in the country in exchange for his taxi and skills. The two navigate the city fighting crime.
-‘Once Upon a Time’s co-creator, Adam Horowitz, recently tweeted a photo of the hit ABC’s fairytale drama’s Season 3 finale title. It reads: “There’s No Place Like Home.” Hmm...sure sounds like a ‘Wizard of Oz’ reference to me.
-Dylan Bruce (‘Orphan Black,’ ‘Arrow’) has joined El Rey’s ‘Matador.’ He’ll play Gabriel, a Lothario type DEA agent. Jonny Cruz (‘Cool Wheels’) has also booked a role as Ricky Bravo, Tony’s (Gabriel Luna) younger brother in prison.
-CBS’ ‘Cuz-Bros,’ starring Geoff Stults, is welcoming Debra Jo Rupp (‘That ‘70s Show’) and Andrea Anders (‘Joey,’ ‘Mr. Sunshine’), Deadline reports. Rupp will play Merle, Nick’s (Stults) no-nonsense, widowed mother, while Anders will take on the role of Stacey, a smart and tough lead news anchor where Nick does the sports.
-Susannah Grant’s ABC’s drama/soap, ‘The Club,’ has found a place for ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ actress Maria Canals-Barrera. She’ll play Hilda, the country club’s house manager who sees and hears all. The series also stars Betsy Brandt, Chris Conroy and Callie Hernandez.
