You just can't keep a good actress down, especially when her name is Dana Delany. The two-time Emmy winner is gearing up to return to the world of scripted dramas once more, having just signed on to star in Amazon Studios upcoming drama pilot 'Hand of God.'
So what exactly will this 'Body of Proof' alum be doing? Not examining dead bodies...or at least we hope not. Delany will play Crystal Harris, the wife of Ron Perlman’s Judge Harris Pernell.
For those of you unfamiliar with the overall premise of the show, the hour-long project centers around Pernell, a law-bending man with a call girl on the side, who experiences a religious awakening. He begins to have visions and hear voices — which could be God speaking to him — through his ventilator-bound son.
The script was written by Ben Watkins ('Burn Notice') and will be directed by 'World War Z's Marc Forster. The two will also serve as executive producers alongside Perlman and Brian Wilkins. Production is scheduled to begin next month.
This gig signifies an important uptick in Delany's career given how ABC canceled 'Body of Proof' last year after only three seasons. The network briefly considered resurrecting the series, but unfortunately those talks collapsed last fall. Suffice to say, it'll be good to have her back on our TV radar where she belongs.
Delany's other TV credits include 'Desperate Housewives,' 'Castle,' 'Presidio Med,' and 'Pasadena,' to name a few.
