Looks like someone is preparing to trade in their life of scandal for a set of medical scrubs. TVLine exclusively reports that Kelly McCreary has just signed up to guest star in yet another Shondaland series.
The actress — who was last seen in a recurring role on 'Scandal' as Harrison’s passport-forging friend, Clare, before meeting her untimely demise this past week) — is set to make her debut on this season’s second-to-last episode of 'Grey's Anatomy.'
Right now, specific details of McCreary's character remain shrouded in mystery. The only thing we do know is that she'll be playing a surgeon who has a flirty bar date with one of the male doctors, whose identity is yet to be known.
As any dedicated 'Grey's fan can tell you, several of our Grey Sloan Memorial doctors are already in some pretty serious relationships, which (hopefully) narrows the field down quite a bit, unless we're about to have another cheating scandal on our hands.
However, if that's not the case, then the only two male docs still currently single are surgical resident Dr. Shane Ross (Gaius Charles) and Chief of Surgery, Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), whose on-again, off-again relationship with Cristina can be described as extremely rocky at best.
Aside from her short-lived stint on 'Scandal,' McCreary's other TV credits include 'White Collar,' 'Castle,' and 'Emily Owens, M.D.' Meanwhile, her episode of 'Grey's is slated to air on May 8.
'Grey's Anatomy' airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.
