Amy Jo Johnson is about to experience an affair she'll most certainly remember. The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned that the actress has just landed a recurring gig on USA Network's globe-trotting spy drama 'Covert Affairs' during its fifth season.
The 'Felicity' alum will play the character of Hayley — a National Counter Terrorism Center investigator who knows how to stand her ground. Described as a persistent woman who's an expert at taking control, Hayley will find herself going head-to-head with Auggie (Christopher Gorham) after the intelligence community faces a united threat.
The 16-episode season will pick up sometime after Annie (Piper Perabo) faked her death, changed her identity, and went deep undercover in Hong Kong to take down her nemesis, Henry Wilcox (Gregory Itzin). But there's a price to pay for such a risky maneuver. The season will look to examine the consequences of Annie's actions as well as the implications they will have on her other relationships as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.
In addition to her time on 'Felicity,' Johnson's other TV credits include 'Flashpoint, 'Wildfire,' 'The Division,' 'What About Brian,' and a lead role in the popular mid-'90s kids series 'The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.' You might recall her as Kimberly Hart aka The Pink Ranger.
She joins an ensemble cast led by Perabo, Gorham, Hill Harper, Kari Matchett, Peter Gallagher and the newly-added series regular Nicholas Bishop. Additional guest stars include Michael A. Goorjian and Perrey Reeves.
'Covert Affairs' will kick off its fifth season later this summer.
