FOX is looking to bring on the funny with some very big A-list comedy gems. TVLine exclusively reports that Steve Carell ('The Office') and Jason Alexander ('Seinfeld') have both signed on to appear in the network's upcoming improv series, 'Riot.'
Making its official debut on May 13, the program will feature a group of players facing off in a series of improv-based challenges, all designed to test the participants both mentally and physically. Oh, and did we mention it all takes place on a stage slanted at a 22-degree angle?
Something tells us Carell and Alexander will feel right in their element. But they are just a few of the many celebrity guests scheduled to join in on the chaos.
In addition to the aforementioned duo, other confirmed stars include:
Cheryl Hines ('Suburgatory')
D.L. Hughley ('The Hughleys')
Tom Green ('Tom Green Live')
Chris Kattan ('The Middle')
Mayim Bialik ('The Big Bang Theory')
David Arquette ('Cleaners')
Oscar Nunez ('The Office')
Andy Dick ('The Andy Dick Show')
Orlando Jones ('Sleepy Hollow')
Nicole Sullivan ('Cougar Town')
Michael Ian Black ('Burning Love')
Will Sasso ('Justified')
Andy Buckley ('The Office')
Rob Delaney ('Key and Peele')
Talk about striking comedy gold!
Meanwhile, the group of comics regularly participating each week includes the likes of John Ross Bowie, Jamie Denbo, Brian Palermo, Jordan Black, Jessica McKenna, Meryl Hathaway and Rob Gleeson, with Australian comedian Rove McManus as the show's host.
'Riot' premieres Tuesday, May 13 at 9/8c on FOX.
