Two familiar faces are returning to TV in a new comedy pilot for TBS. 'Cheers' alum George Wendt and Ashley Tisdale of 'High School Musical' fame have been added to the David Kohan and Max Mutchnick‘s untitled barbershop comedy project.
The multi-camera pilot revolves around a group of kids from the same high school, who ran in different social circles at school, but they now find themselves working together at Buzzy's, a barbershop, in Charlestown, Mass.
Wendt, who most recently appeared on Kirstie Alley's new sitcom, 'Kirstie,' will play the aforementioned Buzzy, the former owner of the shop. Even though he no longer owns the shop, he apparently still graces the shop with his presence and is described as someone who's always down for a good conversation, so, basically he's a Chatty Cathy. He also has a gambling problem, which might explain why he no longer owns the shop.
Tisdale, who also starred in CW's 'Hellcats,' will play Danni, a barber of the shop. She's described as one of the "guys" even though she's sexy, and, of course, doesn't know it.
The duo join Ryan Pinkston ('Punk'd'), Matt Cook ('Harry’s Law') and Mike Castle, who have already been cast as the other barbers.
Lauren Lapkus ('Orange is the New Black') has also been cast in the pilot as Joy, the barbershop receptionist, who, just like her name, happens to be an eternal optimist.
