'Hemlock Grove' Season 2 Gets Summer Premiere Date on Netflix
It’s shaping up to be a busy summer for Netflix subscribers, as come June ‘Orange Is the New Black’ returns for a second season, and now so too does ‘Hemlock Grove’ just a month later.
The supernatural thriller from the streaming service finally received its Season 2 premiere date, as the Eli Roth-produced series will return on Friday, July 11th.
As is always the case, Netflix will drop the entirety of the season at once for your viewing pleasure. Season 2 comprises 10 one-hour episodes, and will pick up where the first season left off following the massacre that rocked the quaint town.
Based on the book by Brian McGreevy, ‘Hemlock Grove’ began with the bloody murder of a high school student that shone a light on a strange society. The story focused on two young men who, despite being from very different families and backgrounds, form an unlikely friendship. Oh, and one of them, Peter, is a werewolf. The bond between the pair is strengthened as Season 2 begins, though their ties with their respective mothers are broken and struggle with various other relationships.
The series features a diverse cast, including Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, Dougray Scott, and Joel de la Fuente. Season 2 will welcome actresses Madeline Brewer (‘OITNB’) as a woman in search of a new life, and Madeleine Martin (‘Californication’), who will take on the role of Shelly Godfrey, last year played by Nicole Boivin.
With the news comes a very short, very cool clip of Famke Janssen looking alluring and mysterious. Enjoy!
