Daytime vet snapped up for groundbreaking B&B role

The popular daytime soap opera The Bold And The Beautiful is set to introduce its first gay couple on the show. Crystal Chappell has been cast in the role of Danielle, one of newly introduced character Caroline's two mothers. Caroline is the daughter of former character Karen Spencer and it will be revealed that Karen and Danielle are a couple. Caroline has been keeping quiet about her two moms but all will be revealed soon. It is the first time a gay couple will take centre stage on the soap but not the first time Crystal Chappell has played a lesbian on daytime television. She is well known for her rols as Olivia Spencer on the now defunct soap, Guiding Light.
