Showtime Puts 'Penny Dreadful' Premiere Online Before Series Debut

Something wicked dreadful this way comes...

Horror fans will be happy to hear that Showtime is making its brand new supernatural series 'Penny Dreadful' available to the public a little earlier than previously expected. Interested fans can now watch the premiere immediately on YouTube, rather than waiting for its official debut on May 11, which undoubtedly will be just as twisted and haunting as the trailers suggest. (Here's hoping there will be a little more dialogue though.)

Created by John Logan and executive produced by Sam Mendes, ‘Penny Dreadful’ is set way back in 1890s Victorian London where infamous gothic characters such as Dorian Gray and Frankenstein dwell, along with vampires, demons, and numerous other evil creatures from the beyond. (So clearly, this is not the ideal spot to take a vacation. You know, unless you’re into that sort of thing.)

Eva Green portrays the female lead Vanessa Ives, while Josh Hartnett will take on the role of Ethan Chandler. Other cast members include Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Helen McCrory, and 'Doctor Who's Billie Piper.

But enough of all this talking. There’s some exciting evilness to observe! You can watch the entire premiere right here. Just be sure to plan your nighttime terrors accordingly.

For those who would rather wait to watch it air on TV, ‘Penny Dreadful’ premieres Sunday, May 11 at 10/9c on Showtime.

Salem has far better dialogue. Penny Dreadful seemed like the Black Sails start, fairly slow. Not bad some interesting groundwork. No need to screw Victors timeline though moves him like 80 years in the future. It isn't as if 1890's London wasn't rife with real and fictional characters to begin with. Still not too bad, just not as big a bang as expected. Then again it could be because Salem is much more and overshadows PD.
