Crippled former decathlon champion Marius Davis is in his room, surrounded by his trophies. His wife Susan arrives with Marius’ doctor, Armstrong. Marius rudely orders her out and Armstrong asks why he was summoned thirty miles on a stormy night, and is trapped on the island for the night. Marius accuses Armstrong of stealing his wife, and says that he will deal with the affair in his own unique fashion. He then orders Armstrong to bring Susan in. Marius informs her that the doctor is trapped there for the night, and will be in the room across from the hallway while Marius is trapped in his bed. Based on the short story "The Horsehair Trunk" (also known as "The Secret Darkness") by Davis Grubb. The story was first published in Colliers (May 25, 1946).
When originally aired, this segment was shown prior to "They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar." In the repeats, it was shown second to give more emphasis to that award-winning episode.
