Over the Top

Over the Top

When famous actor Simon Ferguson finds himself unemployed, he decides to look up Hadley, one of his ex-wives, who currently runs a hotel in Manhattan. After all, they were married for 12 days. Who better to take him in? Hadley is initially reluctant to let Simon waltz back into her life, but he soon "flashes the Ferguson charm" and weasels his way back into her heart. She agrees to let him stay at the hotel (and help out) while he tries to re-establish his acting career.

"Over the Top" fell victim to behind-the-scenes dramas and bad reviews, lasting a scant three weeks on the air before being canceled. It's notable not only for being the first sitcom to star cult actor Tim Curry, but also the first to star a then-unknown named Steve Carell.
