Henry Pollard, played by Adam Scott

Henry is in his mid-thirties and just officially quit acting. Now he’s stuck in the middle-management job of his realigned dreams. As the new Team Leader of Party Down, Henry has to reconcile his increased paycheck with the mundane responsibilities of leading a group of workers who snicker at the mention of “professionalism.” He’s officially made the switch from dreams to practicality, but will it stick?
Casey Klein, played by Lizzy Caplan

Pretty, smart, funny, and insecure, Casey returns from her stint as a cruise line comic, ready to jump into her old life as “a comedienne that happens to make ends meet as a cater-waiter.” When her career takes a promising new turn, she’s ready to focus back on the important things, like teaming up with Henry to chastise their tactless co-workers. Only with Henry’s girlfriend and his new position as Team Leader, he might not be as eager to jump back into things as Casey would like.
Ron Donald, played by Ken Marino

Nine months ago Ron was off to live his dream, owning his own Soup R’ Crackers, an all you can eat salad and soup franchise. Now he’s back, the spitting image of Ron Donald success; nice hair, nice car and trophy girlfriend...only it’s all falling apart. His business has gone under and his girlfriend is bleeding him dry. His final hope is somehow getting his old catering job back from Henry, the only problem is, its Henry’s job he wants.
Kyle Bradway, played by Ryan Hansen

Actor, model and front man for the tragically earnest indie alt-band Karma Rocket, Kyle is just killing time at Party Down before his inevitable big break arrives. In his own mind, he's the “total package” -- handsome, talented, sensitive, and “deep” -- a rare combination of soulful artist and insightful intellectual. To everyone else, Kyle is a self-obsessed naïf whose success in the “handsome business” seems all too disturbingly likely.
Roman DeBeers, played by Martin Starr

A self-proclaimed Sci-Fi visionary and all-purpose intellectual and critic, Roman remains ever-frustrated that his obvious talent continues to go unrecognized while lesser beings like Kyle are groomed for stardom. His weapon against the fundamental un-fairness of the universe is his relentless judgment of others – his colleagues, the party guests, whoever crosses his field of vision. The only one spared is Casey, with whom he is secretly (and forever unrequitedly) in love.
Lydia Dunfree [S02-], played by Megan Mullally

Having left behind her loutish husband, Lydia has arrived in Hollywood with a single goal -- achieving stardom for her 13-year-old daughter Escapade. Eternally optimistic and naive, earnest and straight-talking, Lydia is delighted to find herself working alongside the “entertainment professionals” at Party Down, and eagerly cultivates their wisdom and advice about “making it” in show biz.
