Philip LaZebnik was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but moved to Columbia, Missouri at a young age and spent most of his childhood there. After graduating high school, Philip attended Harvard University and majored in Ancient Greek language and classics. After graduating from Harvard, Philip spent time as a violinist for the Boston Ballet Orchestra, as well as the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra.
Philip's TV writing career began in 1990 when he wrote several episodes for the popular series
Wings. Philip has also written episodes for
Star Trek: The Next Generation,
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and
Mutant X.
Along with Philip's successful television writing career, he has been on the writing staff for several movies including
Pocahontas,
Mulan,
The Prince of Egypt, and most recently
The Three Investigators and the Secret of Skeleton Island, which is scheduled to be released in 2006.
