Born in 1972, Reiko Aylesworth has been taking the TV world by storm. She didn’t originally want to be an actor, and actually attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington to study neural science. Eventually, she made her way to the stage, with her first professional stage performance in the Broadway sensation “West Side Story” in Springfield, Illinois. During a 1992 Seattle stage production of “Peter Pan,” she was discovered by ABC talent scouts. She packed up her things, moved to New York and landed her first TV gig. In the early ‘90s, she made her TV debut as Rebecca Lewis in the daytime soap opera “One Life to Live.” This led to other TV roles including “The West Wing,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “CSI.” Her TV breakout performance came in 2002, when she appeared as Michelle Dessler on the FOX hit “24.” Originally, she auditioned for Nina Meyer - played by Sarah Clarke - and Kate Warner - played by Sarah Wynter. After not getting either part, she was offered the role of Michelle. Not only did the role get her more attention, but also earned her a 2004 nomination for the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award. When “24” ended, Aylesworth didn’t waste anytime snagging more small screen parts. In 2007, she had a recurring role on “ER,” as Julia Dupree. She was happy to get the part, so she could spend time in her hometown of Chicago. The acting gates opened even wider for Aylesworth, when she starred in “Lost” as Amy Goodspeed, in “Damages” as Rachel Tobin and in the CBS hit “Hawaii Five-0” as Chin Ho Kelly’s wife, Malia. She’s even been spotted on “Elementary” and “Person of Interest.” Here are some fun facts: for some time, she dated co-star Kiefer Sutherland, she loves the rodeo and for a decade, her mom worked as a head administrator at a jail.
