Ted DiBiase

Ted’s real birth name was Ted Willis but when his real Mother re-married Mike DiBiase they had the original birth certificate amended to Theodore Marvin DiBiase Sr.
 
Ted never knew his real father except that he was a backup singer for Country singer Tennessee Ernie Ford. His stepdad Iron Mike died in the ring when Ted was only 15 & his mother Helen Hild went into a deep depression.
 
Because of this she was no longer capable to care for Ted so he moved in with his grandparents in Arizona. He was offered & accepted a Football scholarship to attend West Texas State University & while he was in school he began his wrestling trainin
 
Ted’s stepfather was also a professional wrestler under the name of ‘Iron’ Mike DiBiase who began his career in 1956, he passed away in 1969 and on 15 July 2006 he was inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thez Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.
 
The Funk brother Dory Funk Jr. & Terry Funk trained Ted for the squared circle & he dropped out of college to become a full-time wrestler. He began his wrestling career on the Oklahoma independent circuit.
 
From there he went to Japan very briefly and then to MSW (Mid-South Wrestling) where he would hold the MSW North American Championship 5-times & the MSW Tag Team Tiles 5-times with 4 different partners.
 
Early in 1979 he beat the famous Fritz Von Erich (Jack Barton Adkisson) to win the North American Heavyweight Championship & he took the title with him to the WWF where he was acknowledged as the 1st ever WWF North American Champion.
 
On 19 June he lost the title to Pat Patterson and it was then renamed the WWF Intercontinental Championship. In 1980 he returned to MSW and also wrestled in the UWF.
 
During this time he won the MSW North American Heavyweight title in February 1980, the NWA United National Heavyweight title in October 1983, the Mid-South Tag Team titles 3-times & the UWF Team Team titles 1-time.
 
In 1987 he returned to the WWF as “The Million Dollar Man” and he would ware a gold-studded, dollar-sign-covered suit & a custom-made “Million Dollar Belt” that was diamond-studded around his waist.
 
He was the 4th person to ever be crowned King of The Ring when he pinned Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage in the final match of the tournament on 16 October 1988 in Providence, Rhode Island.
 
While in the WWF this time he won the WWF Tag Team titles 3-times all with Irwin R. Schyster (Lawrence Michael Rotunda) calling themselves “Money Inc.” & he won his own “Million Dollar Belt” on 2 separate occasions.
 
In mid-1994 Ted formed & became the manager of a stable he called “The Million Dollar Corporation” which consisted of Bam Bam Bigelow (Scott Bigelow), Irwin R. Schyster (Lawrence Michael Rotunda) & Nikolai Volkoff (Josip Peruzovic).
 
In early 1995 Ted added King Kong Bundy (Chris Pallies) to his group to wrestle against the Undertaker (Mark William Calaway). He added Sycho Sid Vicious (Sid Eudy) to wrestle against the WWF Champion Diesel (Kevin Nash) in June.
 
In July he added Kama The Supreme Fighting Machine aka “The Godfather” (Charles Wright) and he next added Henry Godwinn (Mark Cantabury) but he stayed only a short time before becoming a face.
 
In September he added the 1-2-3 Kid aka X-Pac & Syxx (Sean Waltman) to his Corporation. In early 1996 his group of thugs had disbanded and he decided to manager Steve Austin calling him “The Ringmaster”.
 
On 26 May 1996 the Ringmaster lost to Savio Vega (Juan Rivera) in a Caribbean Strap Match with the stipulation that DiBiase had to leave the WWF which he did. He went to WCW and became the manager of the N.W.O. (New World Order).
 
He next manager The Steiner Brothers, Rick & Scott & they won the WCW World Tag Team Titles. When WCW was bought out and closed done in 2001 Ted faded from the wrestling scene & became a “Born Again Christian” & an Ordained Minister.
 
Ted also co-founded the very short-lived WXO old school wrestling organization in Lakeland, Florida it lasted only 3-weeks before it folded. In March 2005 Ted began working as an agent & a member of the creative team in the WWE.
 
He has feuded with the 1-2-3 Kid, Big Bossman, Brutus Beefcake, Dick Murdock, Diesel, Dusty Rhodes, Greg Valentine Hercules, Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts, Jim Duggan, The Macho Man, Razor Ramon, Roddy Piper, Savio Vega, Undertaker & Virgil.
 
His moves are Diving back elbow drop, Figure four leglock, Million Dollar Buster (1/2 nelson legsweep), Million Dollar Dream (Cobra clutch), Million Dollar Fist Drop, Million Dollar Knee Lift, Reverse Elbow off Ropes, Reverse Flying Elbow & Sleeper.
