Talented actress Alicia Coppola is not only recognized for her many roles on television, but also for her last name. Let’s clear things right off the bat: no, she’s not related to Francis Ford Coppola. She probably gets that a lot. Before entering the TV world, Coppola attended New York University, in 1990. She also tried out modeling, thanks to her New York City landlord’s modeling agency connections. Her first appearance on the small screen was as a host of MTV’s game show “Remote Control.” Soon after, she scored her first major recurring role as Lorna Devon on the daytime soap opera “Another World.” This role scored her a 1993 Soap Opera Digest Award for “Outstanding Younger Leading Actress.” She quickly made the transition from daytime to some of the hottest ‘90s primetime programs including “NYPD Blue” and “Chicago Hope.” Now, during the 2000s, she can be spotted all over the small screen. From “JAG” and “NCIS” (where she played the same character, Lt. Cmdr. Faith Coleman) to “Trinity” to “Bull” to “American Dreams” to “Jericho” to “Two and a Half Men” (she appeared twice, eight years apart, as two different characters), Coppola has dabbled in a little bit of everything. She was supposed to appear in “24,” as a Muslim intelligence analyst, but all of her scenes were cut. They were all restored as extras on the 2005 DVD. Just because her resume has more TV credentials, doesn’t mean Coppola hasn’t appeared on the silver screen. She can be seen in Walt Disney and Jon Turteltaub’s “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” Apparently, artistry and expression run in the family, as her cousin, Denise Di Novi, is a famous producer (“Edward Scissorhands,” “Batman Returns,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “The District”). Coppola is currently married to actor Anthony Michael Jones. They have three children, Mila Rose, Esme Marlena and Greta Helena.
