Born in a western suburb of Philadelphia PA, Tom Verica was exposed to the entertainment business early in his life. Hearing stories from his mother, who was a dancer on
Dick Clark's American Bandstand, inspired Tom and his sister to try out and become dancers on a local teen dance show,
Dancin' On Air. While his sister quickly grew tired of the show, Tom got bit by the entertainment bug.
After a brief stint in college Tom took the plunge and at age 21 moved to New York and dove headfirst into a long standing career ranging from stage, television and movies.
While in New York Tom came under the tutelage of legendary acting teacher William Esper. While stage acting he dabbled in directing and producing, forging a path in all aspects of the entertainment business.
His first big break came while he was performing in Craig Lucas'
Prelude To A Kiss.
It was while performing on Broadway, producers from the TV hit
LA Law took notice of Verica and offered him the role as Billy Castroverti. He would play the role for two half seasons.
From there he made numerous guest appearances on shows such as
Picket Fences, Frasier, Seinfeld ,Providence, Will and Grace and
NYPD Blue.
His break into a series came as playing a conservative father in the series
American Dreams from 2002-2005.
With movie appearances too numerous to list, Verica keeps steadily working beyond his stint at American Dreams. He has most recently appeared in television with guest appearances on shows
Law and Order:Special Victims Unit, Skin Deep, House, MD and is currently in filming Robert Graysmith's
Zodiac, which is due for release in spring 2006.
