Shelley is an actress, model & professional body builder & she played “Siren” on the weekly TV reality game show “American Gladiators” from 1992 to 1997 and was the only person on the series that was totally deaf.
| She overdosed on aspirin at the age of 3 which led to her hearing loss & she received visual cues from referee Larry Thompson when competing on the “American Gladiators” & the audience would wave at her to acknowledge she did a good job.
| She was a heptathlete & cross-country runner in high school later earning a degree in psychology & special education. She overcame her handicap through athletic accomplishments, use of hearing instruments, speech therapy & lip-reading.
