E.B. Farnum is the owner of the Grand Central Hotel and the Mayor of Deadwood. He has a great desire for money and attention. Although he rarely misses a chance to suck up to Al Swearengen, he won’t hesitate to cheat even Al out of a few dollars if the opportunity exists.

The Farnum character is based on the real E.B. Farnum.

Widely respected in a town where many residents remember him as a childhood authority figure, Bud tries to do right by everyone as much as possible. He doesn't understand people's sudden fascination with vampires, however, and his job was a lot easier before the creatures started showing up.
