Oliver Clark was born in Buffalo. N.Y. Ha attended school there and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in English and drama. Ha was active in local theater productions while attending school and Immediately after.
In 1960 the young showman turned producer in an Off-Broadway production which he says was an immense bomb. Clark heeded back to Buffalo and for four years taught English at the junior high school level. He then moved to Middleton, NY, closer to Broadway, but still as a teacher.
Making the rounds of the booking agents in New York, Clark landed a part in ' Arturo Ui' and his teaching days were finished. He followed this with parts in 'Ben Franklin In Paris,' The Caucasian Chalk Circle,' 'Don't Drink the Water,' Spiro Who?,' 'Passing Through from Exotic Races,' 'Sunstroke,' 'Two Times One' and 'The Last Straw.'
He replaced Jamas Coco in the Off-Broadway production of 'Next.' He also was a regular In the company of David Frost's television show, along with Lily Tomlin, Peter Boyle, Madeline Kahn and Jennifer Darling.
He also appeared In the motion picture
'They Might Be Giants,' In television commercials By 1972, he journeyed to Hollywood and became a semi-regular on
'The Bob Newhart Show,' playing a member of the therapy group. He also has appeared on many other television series in guest roles and in the movies
'Fire Sale,' '
A Star la Born,' End of the Road,' Deadhead Miles,' Billy Jack Goes to Washington,' Another Man, Another Woman' and
'The landlord.'
Clark, who is single, lives In West Hollywood, collects antique toys and is an amateur magician.
