Jack Bannon was born on June 14 in Los Angeles, the son of the late actress Bea Benadaret and radio announcer Jim Bannon. He went to Notre Dame High School and earned his B.A. degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
He majored in speech and drama in college and took additional dramatic training with Jeff Corey and Gene Lasko. While in his teens, he began acting in television, getting roles on "Daniel Boone," "Green Acres," "The Beverly Hillbillies," and "Petticoat Junction," in which his mother starred.
In 1970, he went to New York City, "attracted," he says, "by the stage mystique," and worked in industrial films. He returned to Hollywood in 1976 to resume his work in television and little theater.
He had guest roles on "The Love Boat," "Charlie's Angels," "Bamey Miller," "Delvecchio," "Kojak," "The Rockford Files," "Quincy," "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Whodunit," and appeared in the motion pictures-for-television "Tail Gunner Joe" and "Amelia Earhart."
His feature films include "Airport 77" and "Rabbit Test." Bannon has been active in Theater East and performed in "Steambath," "Waiting for Godot," 'The Three Sisters," "The Lion in Winter" and "Beginner's Luck."
Bannon's hobbies include wood sculpture, moviegoing and playing the clarinet. He is 6'3" tall, weighs 175 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. He lives in Studio City, Calif.
