American performer Grey DeLisle is mostly known for her voice, as she is actually the voice of many popular cartoons. Many famous characters of animated films and even computer games speak with her voice. Chances are you have most likely heard her voice, but never knew it.
Erin Grey Van Oosbree was born into a musical family on August 24, 1973, in Fort Ord, California. She was basically brought up by her grandmother, a known salsa performer Eva Flores Ruth. Her mother was a singer, who had issues with drugs, but later was converted to Pentecostalism, and her father was a trucker with love for country music. It is no wonder than at an early age of 5 Grey wrote her first song.
Grey says that she was introduced to the world of animation film voicing by her friend. He was enthralled with her voice so much, that he encouraged her to try it out. And in 1994 under the pseudonym of Grey DeLisle she landed her first voicing job. And from then on she was the favorite of animated feature film gods, who took of her and provided her with many opportunities!
Popular Internet resource the Anime News Network awarded Grey with the title of “Superstar Voice Actress”, and Harp magazine called her “golden-voiced” for her work. Her animated credits are too many to mention. But there is more – she steps into the realm of computer games, where she voices several episodes of Star Wars, Escape from Monkey Island, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.
Apart from her voicing career, she has released four solo albums that fans compare to Dolly Parton.
