Character’s background: The Mad Hatter debuted in Batman #49 (October-November 1948). Dr. Jervis Tetch was a genius specialized in neuroscience who developed a device that allowed him to control people's minds. His imminent insanity and fixation with Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland led him to develop an alter ego named after The Hatter from Lewis Carroll's novel. |
