Annett Culps break in acting came with a staring role as Anastasia in Zalman King's Chromiumblue.com, which led to a series on the famed German Soap Opera "Verbotene Liebe" as Silke Voss. Being a yoga practitioner and a martial artist helped her branch out in the more physical aspect of acting and got her a role playing a lead in the episode of "Die Wache" and a contract with Action Concept, the largest German action production company.
Annett was born in East Germany and left when she was three months old to live in Sudan for the next 2 years where her grandfather, Abdel Fattah Muhammad Al-Maghrabi was the President in1956 as part of the first sovereignty council. When she immigrated to West Germany she lived with her mother and younger brother, Tarik, in a refugee camp for several months.
She grew up in West Berlin where she developed an interest in acting. In 1994 Annett moved to Los Angeles to study acting at Playhouse West under the direction of Jeff Goldblum and Robert Carnegie. She currently divides her time between Berlin and Los Angeles. She studies Yoga and Vedanta Philosophy with the Sivananda Yoga organization.
